Customize groups its settings into two sections. Branding holds Identity, Domain, Colors, Course thumbnails, Lessons, and Certificate. Pages holds Home page, Course catalog, Custom links, and Welcome questions. A live preview of your academy sits beside the panel and mirrors every change before you save.
What you can configure
Academy name and tagline
The name students see in the header and throughout your academy, plus a short tagline shown beneath it.
Logo and logo size
Upload a separate logo for light mode and dark mode, and set how tall your logo renders in the sidebar and header.
Brand color and theme
Your brand color drives buttons, links, and highlights. The appearance theme sets whether your whole academy runs in light or dark mode.
Audience name
What your academy calls the people learning in it: Members, Clients, Students, Participants, or Learners.
Favicon and social image
Set a favicon for the browser tab and a social sharing image for when your academy link is shared.
Thumbnails, lessons, and certificates
Style the generated course thumbnails, choose whether lessons show header images, and design your completion certificate.
Set up your identity
1
Open Customize
In your owner dashboard, click Customize in the left sidebar. The panel opens on its menu, grouped into Branding and Pages sections.
2
Open Identity
Under Branding, click Identity. This is where your name, logo, tagline, favicon, social image, and audience name live.
3
Set your academy name and tagline
Enter your academy name. Add a short tagline in the Tagline field: it appears beneath your headline. Keep it to one line.
4
Upload your logo
Click the logo upload area and select your image. To show a different logo in dark mode (for example, a white version), upload it in the Dark mode logo field. (You can set a dark-mode logo once a main logo exists.)
5
Set your logo size
Once a logo is uploaded, a Logo size slider appears. Drag it to set how tall your logo renders in the sidebar and header (width adjusts automatically). Click Reset to return to the default size.
6
Add a favicon and social image
Upload a square Favicon for browser tabs and the sidebar, and a Social share image shown when your academy link is shared.
7
Choose your audience name
Under Audience name, pick what your academy calls the people learning in it: Members (the default), Clients, Students, Participants, or Learners. The word is used across every page they see and on your own dashboard wherever it talks about them.
This documentation says “members”, the default audience name. In your academy the word is whatever you chose here, so labels such as All members and Add member read All clients and Add client if you pick Clients. A few older pages still say “students”; read that as your audience name. The API keeps its
students endpoints regardless of the setting.Set your color and theme
Open Colors under the Branding section.1
Choose your brand color
Pick from the quick color row, or open the color picker to enter any color. Your brand color drives buttons, links, and highlights across your academy, in both light and dark mode. The change previews immediately.
2
Choose your appearance
Under Appearance, pick how your whole academy renders:
- Light: your academy always runs in light mode.
- Dark: your academy always runs in dark mode.
- System: each student’s academy follows their own device setting.
Your brand color applies in both light and dark mode. The difference between modes is your logo: upload a separate dark-mode logo so it always reads clearly against the background.
Course thumbnails, lessons, and certificate
Three more panels under Branding style the pieces of your academy that Fayne generates for you.Course thumbnails
Course thumbnails
Every course without an uploaded cover gets a generated thumbnail with the course title. Choose its Background, Text color, and whether your Logo appears on it. The preview shows a sample course title as you adjust.
Lessons
Lessons
Toggle Lesson header images on or off. When on, each lesson opens with a header image band; when off, lessons start straight from the title.
Certificate
Certificate
Design the certificate students earn when they complete a course that issues one. Pick a background (Cream, White, Charcoal, or Brand tint) and accent color, your logo size and variant (default or dark mode), the border (Double, Single, or None), and the typography (Classic serif or Modern sans). Under Signoff, add who signs the certificate, their title, an optional signature image (a PNG with a transparent background works best), and footer text such as an accreditation note. See Certificates for turning certificates on per course.
Set your subdomain
Your academy’sfayneos.com subdomain is set under Branding > Domain (also reachable from Settings > Domain). Choose a subdomain made of lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens. This subdomain powers your student landing page, your course detail pages, and your authentication screens.
To connect a fully custom domain, see the Custom Domain guide. Once a custom domain is verified, students reach your academy there and the subdomain stays as a fallback.
Your academy URL
Your academy is accessible at a subdomain in the format:Pages
The Pages section of Customize is where your visitor-facing pages and navigation live.Home page
Click Home page to open the full-screen builder for your academy’s landing page (the page visitors see first). See the Home Page guide for the full walkthrough.Course catalog
The Course catalog panel controls the top of your Courses page.- Hero: what students see above the catalog. Automatic (“Your first course, or where a member left off”) shows a Continue banner for members mid-course, and otherwise spotlights the first course they can open with a Start learning button. Featured course spotlights one course you pick. Banner is your own hero with a headline, subheadline, an image or brand-color background with an overlay slider, and a button that opens a course, an external link, or sign-up. Leave every text field empty for an image-only banner. Hidden removes the hero, so the page starts right at the course grid.
- Members resume first: on by default. Members with a course in progress see their personal Continue hero instead of yours; visitors and new members always see yours.
- Layout: Full width or Floating for the catalog page.
Welcome questions
Ask new members up to four questions once, right after they join, and read their answers on their profile. See Welcome questions.Custom links
Add your own links to the student sidebar: a booking page, a community, your website, anything with anhttps address. Each link has a label, an icon (pick from the icon set or use an emoji), and a URL. Drag to reorder. Links open in a new tab and show a small arrow so students know they are leaving the academy. They save with the rest of your Customize changes.
Email sender identity
Transactional emails from your academy are sent under your academy’s own sender name, not Fayne’s. This covers emails like invitations, signup confirmation, sign-in codes, course access notifications, and academy access changes. Your sender name is configured in your academy’s email settings.Until you verify a custom sending domain, emails still use your academy’s sender name but go out from a shared Fayne sending domain. The from-name your students see is always yours.
White-label
On a paid plan, no Fayne branding appears in the student experience. Your students see your name in the header, your color throughout the UI, your logo on every screen, and your sender name in their inbox.Do light and dark mode use different colors?
Do light and dark mode use different colors?
Your brand color is applied in both modes. The difference between modes is your logo: you can upload a separate light-mode and dark-mode version so the logo always reads clearly against the background.
What does the appearance theme change?
What does the appearance theme change?
It sets whether your whole academy renders in light mode, dark mode, or follows each student’s device setting (System). It is academy-wide, not a per-student toggle.
